This isn't funny

Today it has snowed all day. Two days ago I awoke to find the city had been dusted with fresh snow. When I was in New Orleans, Nicole told me the city was hit with a major snow storm. This shit is getting old!

For the past few weeks, it's gradually been warming, snow has been melting. But this shit sucks. I'm not kidding. Make it stop.

Yeah. Winter's not cool in the rest of the world. It's quaint for a little bit, but doesn't take long to suck all the life outta any normal person. Start reading up on Seasonal Affective Disorder. Or, just come visit more often. Sorry man. April is usually a little better. Just a few more weeks...

Something that might help: can you figure out what it is exactly that you don't like about the snow? Back in the day, I realized it was the stress of being scrunched hard against the cold for hours at a time as well as cold, numb feet that I hated most. Allowing myself to splurge on quality insulated, waterproof clothing (including boots)helped a lot. It wasn't a 100% solution but it helped.

Living in the north is a real drag. Somewhere a magnolia tree is in bloom.

Thanks for all the empathy.

Alex makes a good point. One of the things I have a problem with is slipping on the icy sidewalk. (Though I've only busted my ass twice.) Maybe I need some boots with better treads.

That was pretty funny, PJ.

On the day I wrote that post, it was just a sorry, grey day--very depressing.

Snow is such a mixed blessing! It has snowed three times here in Seattle since Jon and I have been back from our stint in Las Vegas:
1. On MOVING day into our new condo. NOT cool.
2. On Chrismas! The first white Chrismas in Seattle in many years! WAY cool!
3. A few days ago--all over the the already snow-like cherry blossoms in bloom. A beautiful early spring moment. PRETTY cool! (See photo on my blog at morganmacdonald.wordpress.com).

Yep. The snow in the Puget Sound area was a nice surprise last weekend. Too bad it didn't last long. I guess just as long as the snow comes in dribs and drabs it's a pleasant novelty. The mountain passes are a different story however.
